Help Palestinian Fulbright Grantees Get Exit Visas from Israel
Following the sad news on May 30, 2008 that our 8 fellow Fulbright grantees in Palestine had their fellowships cancelled because Israel did not grant them exit visas, we would like to denounce this act of injustice and hindrance to the right of every individual to pursue knowledge and education; and urge the U.S. Department of State to put pressure on the Israeli government to review their decision.
Sign this petition TODAY and add your voice to those who believe in the right of EVERY individual to pursue knowledge and education. We would like to transcend political conflicts and pave the way for a better, peaceful future for everyone.
Dear Sir/Madam,
We, the undersigned, Fulbright Students and world citizens for the promotion of education and peace, call on the policy makers at the U.S. Department of State to urge Israel to issue exit visas to our fellow Fulbright grantees in Gaza, Palestine.
We would like to denounce this act of injustice and hindrance to the right of every individual to pursue knowledge and education. The Fulbright Scholarship is the world's most prestigious program for educational excellence and achievement. But above all, it is a program that has as its core mission fostering peace and mutual understanding between nations and peoples.
We would like these to remain the ideals of the Fulbright Scholarship accessible to anyone, anywhere, at any time; and we would like our fellow Palestinian Fulbright Grantees to be given their right to benefit from them, regardless of political conflicts and nonsensical decisions.
Thank you for considering our petition and thank you for your support,
