The conflict in Gaza has been catastrophic for children. Over 10,000 have been killed and thousands more are missing, either trapped or dead under the rubble. Israeli children have been used as hostages in Gaza.

Over half of Gaza's schools have been damaged in attacks and all are closed due to the conflict. Hundreds of thousands of children in Gaza have witnessed extensive destruction and displacement, and urgently need mental health and psychosocial support.

The IRC is calling on all parties to the conflict to take immediate steps to protect the lives of children, and on the international community to support those efforts.
