American Citizens in Qatar seeking their ambassadore's help to press local telecom in order to restore internet telephone service.

Dear Mr. Untermeyer,

It is very sad to see all fellow Americans mistreated by a local telephone company, which is of course "QTEL".

I am aware that this matter is not political but rather a social important one to all American families residing in Qatar. For many reasons, we have personally accepted our jobs in Qatar and recognize its financial benefits. However, in exchange we are helping all of Qatar and the people of Qatar.

To make this short, most of us have purchased the VOIP service to contact our families in US. For many Americans here in Doha this service is our main link to our families in the US. Every time we lift the phone headset we feel like we are still at home in America, and we can contact any one we want.

Qtel has decided to increase its level of greed and blocked this service or other that specific protocol in Qatar.

We feel that this matter is or beyond "discrimination" against all Americans in the state of Qatar. We feel what has just happened is a case of greed and that the government officials may be not fully aware of it since the company is a semi-governmental.

We would like to ask you to help us by passing on this specific problem to State of Qatar officials. We hope that this would be one of your next important topics to discuss of your agenda.

Thank you for your time and considerations in this matter.
