A live tiger named Omar Bradley was shamefully dragged to a Louisiana State University (LSU) football game. There, his human handlers forced him into a chaotic stadium filled with screaming fans, blaring music, and flashing lights. This is not only

he broke state laws that prohibit the importation of big cats without proper exemptions - exemptions that they did not appear to have.
This is an issue of cruelty, as well as a matter of legality and public safety. The man who procured Omar the target has a long record riddled with citations for failing to provide adequate veterinary care and
allowing his tigers to escape during performances. Him bringing this latest big cat to LSU is only
his latest criminal action in a long list of illegal activity.LSU had wisely ended the inhumane tradition of bringing live tigers to games nearly a decade ago, recognizing the immense harm it causes.
Yet, under the governor's bizarre directive, the university reversed course and allowed this grotesque display to take place, despite overwhelming public outrage and as well as the passage of the federal Big Cat Public Safety Act.
Transporting a stressed wild animal across state lines and subjecting him to a raucous environment is inhumane and reckless. Experts have made it clear that this archaic practice endangers both the animal and the public.
This cruelty must not go unanswered.
