In our society, the act of dog fighting is illegal, but this horrendous pastime still occurs in the underground circuit on a regular basis. The most commonly used breed targeted by those involved in the dog fighting trade is the pit bull. The participation of the pit bull in such illegal and violent activities has led to their negative portrayal in our society.
Seeing someone being entertained by watching these innocent dogs fight to a bloody and horrifying death is perhaps one of the most disgusting things one can fathom. Many animal control and legal officials have attempted to put an end to such illegal acts of “entertainment,” but sadly they continue. This leaves the problem in our hands.
We must join together to stop these illegal dog fights. These defenseless dogs that are being used for such activities are treated so poorly that it is up to us to save them from a deadly fate.
In fact, many of these innocent dogs are taken from loving homes because dog fighting rings are in need of animals to be their “bait dogs.” "Bait dogs" are dogs used to teach the prized fighters to attack and kill.
The situation at hand is truly appalling and inhumane. It is truly sad what some “people” will do to a helpless animal for their own sick pleasure and amusement. How could someone enjoy watching something endure such a horrific blood bath that ultimately results in a death?
The answer to this problem is clear. We must band together and confront this issue firsthand by supporting organizations, such as the RSPCA and ASPCA, who have made efforts to stop dog fights.
Sign this petition and try to save these precious creatures that are pathetically taught and encouraged to fight for money and pleasure. Give them the life they deserve. Where they can be loved, cuddled and form a bond of companionship with an individual or family.
