The undersigned support the Weeks Woodlands Association, Inc. letter demanding that Engine 306 be saved, and that sufficient resources be added to CB 11 so that the response time of 90% of all calls in the entire CB 11 area satisfy the national guideline of four minutes.The mayor has proposed closing 20 FDNY fire companies, including Engine 306, located at 40-18 214th Place, Bayside.

According to the national guidelines created by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), it is required that
firefighters should arrive at an emergency scene
within four minutes of a dispatch center
receiving the call.

Currently, the Travel Time of the First Arriving Engine (306) is 4 minutes, 49 seconds.
This is 49 seconds above the NFPAstandard.
If Engine 306 is closed, this time increases to 6 minutes, 4 seconds, a full 2 minutes above the NFPA standard.
