Hillside Animal Sanctuary was founded in 1995 to help and campaign for animals in need' and most importantly, to bring public awareness to the millions of animals suffering every day in the intensive factory farming industry. Although at Hillside we have given sanctuary to 750 horses, ponies and donkeys, most of our residents have been rescued from the farming industry.
The Sanctuary needs, clean sheets, towels and bedding, baskets and coats, outdoor horse rugs, animal feed, old sofas and chairs, old carpets, old mobile phones, foreign currencies, scrap or broken gold jewellery, old books, etc. We are generally unable to collect items and so are always grateful if they can be sent or dropped off at the Sanctuary. Please don't send items if the cost of gettting them to us, exceeds their value. http://www.hillside.org.uk/acatalog/donations.html
Hillside is now home to over 2000 animals and is one
of the UK's most successful campaigning organisations for the animals' cause. We have always known that one of the main reasons animals are left to suffer in factory farms is because people have little or no idea about the immense cruelty involved in their food production. Although most of our rescued animals have been saved from the farming industry, Hillside is home to over 700 horses, ponies, donkeys and mules.

the RSPB said It's too late to put all these measures in place for this year, as the cull is nearly over and has to be completed by the end of this month to avoid the breeding season. We sincerely hope we can find a way forward in discussion with experts in animal welfare that allows us to meet SNH's concerns and avoid the need to cull in the future.
