Request that May 15th be declared by the United Nations, International Day of Compassion, for the following reasons:
* Compassion is a core value that the world community needs to hold dear
* To honor the lives of women and men from around the globe who have lost their lives in acts of violence
* To acknowledge the human capability to value compassion
* To acknowledge our responsibility as members of the united nations, of the world, to actively engage in reducing suffering caused by tragic consequences of violence.
