Old San Juan's Beloved Cats Are Under Threat by the Federal Government

In Old San Juan, where history breathes through the blue cobblestones and colonial facades, a federal decision threatens to strip away a part of its soul – the city's beloved cats. The National Park Service has a plan to potentially euthanize up to 170 feral cats under the guise of nuisance control.

Sign this petition to demand that the National Park Service halt plans to remove and euthanize the cats and instead focus on humane and constructive solutions to enhance urban management and animal welfare.

Even worse, this plan overlooks the real issues that Old San Juan residents are actually concerned about – such as over development and ineffective trash collection that contribute to broader urban challenges. The proposed removal of these cats is a misdirected effort to address the city's problems.

These cats, embraced by both residents and tourists, symbolize the enduring spirit of the community, not the cause of its problems.

Sign the petition to stand with the residents of Old San Juan in demanding a policy that protects these cats and preserves the unique character of this historic neighborhood!
