We demand an end to inhumane Council treament of dogs awaiting a Trial.

For example the most recent in Tauranga NZ - in isolation since 14th October 2021
8 months of solitary confinement, no exercise, no outdoors, no sunshine, kept in a cage.
No behavioural assessment done at the time of the incident.
No family comfort, no socialisation , very stressful environment.
Eight months for a dog is the equivalent of eleven human years and he’s only two! Treated as guilty until proven innocent.

NZ Animal Laws were made without recognizing sentience in dogs – it’s no longer acceptable to just provide food, water and shelter in long-term care.

As ratepayers and animal welfare supporters we want an end to this barbaric treatment NOW!
