Stop Grouse Hunting Season in the UK!
August 12th, nicknamed the "Glorious 12th," marks the beginning of grouse shooting season in the UK, when adults and children alike shoot grouse for pleasure until the season ends in December.
Experts predict that a record number of birds may be shot this year due to a late breeding season, but many birds will suffer lingering deaths or painful injuries after being shot by inexperienced gunmen.
Grouse aren't the only animals that suffer: predators such as beavers, otters and birds of prey are trapped and killed to "protect" grouse populations, and toxic lead from bullets poisons the habitat of other wildlife.
Grouse hunting is a senseless event that damages native wildlife and turns a picturesque landscape into a disturbing and bloody environment. Please sign the petition to cancel grouse hunting season in the UK!
