Help persuade sports apparel brands to provide a list of ingredients

The European Consumer Organisation (BEUC) tested sports shirts this summer and found the following toxic heavy metals and chemicals extracted from a simulated sweat solution;

Lead

Chromium

Nickel

Antimony

Dibutyltin (DTD)

Nonylphenol ethoxylates (NPE’s)

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH’s)

Arsenic

Formaldehyde

BEUC concluded that the risk of migration of hazardous substances from fabric to our skin increases with sports shirts as they are used during perspiration-inducing activities and come into direct contact with the skin, our largest organ.

If you are slightly uneasy about buying apparel filled with toxic heavy metals and chemicals for your children to wear when playing sport, here is your opportunity to persuade the leading sport brands and ask them to provide consumers with with a list of ingredients.

Dear Nike, Adidas and Puma.

Please provide your customers with a list of ingredients you use to make your sports apparel.
