This problem started during the 1930's with the chickens. A demand for livestock increased so farmers started using inhumane methods such as cramming chickens into cages smaller than a standard size sheet of paper. They would spend the rest of their miserable lives in these disease-ridden prisons. They do the same things for pigs and cows by cramming them into areas so small that they can't even turn around, lay down, or stretch their wings. People should also sign this petition because industrial farming created the biggest pandemic during 1918. This pandemic was called the avian flu and it killed more people than those that died during World War 1. 50 million people died in less than 25 weeks making it the pandemic that killed more people than any other epidemic in history. Avian flu (bird flu) was caused because of unsanitary conditions in the farms. These animals are also given antibiotics which affects human health because it creates a strain of drug-resistant bacteria present in human bodies. Industrial farming is not only unhealthy for people like you and me, but it affects these farm animals the most. They spend their whole lives not knowing the feel of grass on their feet or the breeze in the air until they're being transported for slaughter. They're not allowed to live the way that they should- they're tortured throughout their whole life. For example, male chicks are ground up alive because they have no use to the industry since they can't reproduce. Cow's tails are known to be cut off with pliers without any anesthetic given to them. They also do this to pigs and piglets. The employees would rip out their testicles and tails while they're still conscious. These animals deserve a voice, someone to stand up for them. They deserve to live the life that they should and not be crammed into small places or be abused. They need your voice too, this is a world-wide effort and people need to join hands to make this atrocity go away. With your voice, we can stand up for these animals and demand a change, a change that can affect the animal's lives and your life too.
