Be sure to always check your car before driving, too, as many cats seek shelter in the warmth of the engine or underneath cars.
Finally, providing food for cats is especially important in winter months when they need extra energy. Dry food is a great option since it doesn't freeze like wet food does, but heating up wet food and providing it in a plastic container works well, too.
