We, the undersigned, would like to bring to your attention the plight of a young man, Eric De La Cruz, who resides in the State of Nevada and is in dire need of a heart transplant. He suffers from Severe Dilated Cardiomyopathy and has an EF of only 15%. He is dying. His sister, Veronica, is doing all she can to help her brother, but has struggled with red-tape in Nevada and California. Can you please review and do whatever is possible to help Eric De La Cruz get his needed heart? He needs Medicare Disability. The link below is a picture of Eric and Veronica and his story. Eric was initially turned down for the heart transplant list because he is on Nevada Medicaid, only accepted in Nevada, where there are absolutely no suitable transplant centers. Through the help of those signing this petition, and the support of fund-raisers, he has finally gotten to California under the Medicare Disability program. But he had been rejected twice and very nearly never got the appeal he desperately needed. Can you help escalate this issue to get Eric De La Cruz, and others just like him caught in insurance red-tape, to the forefront of the debate on health care reform. Eric is far too young to die. No one in this condition should ever have to go through this much red tape to stay alive.
