European Parliament, please save Romania's strays from slaughter !

Honorable membres of the European Parliament,

As a citizen of the world, in the year 2010, I can not remain silent at the tragedy endured by animals in Romania. Many of us have written to the Romanian authorities, kindly asking them to stop the massacres of animals, most especially stray dogs and to implement and apply not only the existing Romanian Law for the protection of Animal ( 2008 ) but also the international treaties and conventions, signed, ratified and entered in force in Romania long time ago.

Every single day, more horrifying news surface in the world about massacres against animals, not only  condoned , but ORDERED by authorities ( mayors, police, Sanitary-veterinary agencies, hunting agencies) .

In my opinion, this attitude is unacceptable for a country member of the European Community in the 21st century.

I wish to express my deep concern about the image Europe is projecting by allowing such barbaric actions to take place in an EU country.

Please, be advised that all the POISONINGS of strays are done with FURADAN...this is banned pesticide in the EU, yet Romanians use it at their discretion, poisoning animals everywhere...

Romania is criticized all over the world, hundreds and thousands of letters have been sent to Romanian authorities - local, national, governmental, embassies, YET, not only they continue to kill animals, the actions taken have worsened in the last year and even in the last days.

To know that Mayors, deputy-mayors, police it self ORDERS the killing of strays, should be a warning sign for the willingness of Romanian authorities to respect and implement all international treaties and convention.

Please, contact the Romanian government and ask that Romania becomes a state of LAW.

Please help save innocent animals and please show the world that in Europe of the 21st century, such acts of horror are no longer tolerated.
