Support Legislation To Defend Our National Monuments
The Trump administration has been waging an all-out assault on our national monuments.
In December, the president illegally slashed protections for more 2 million acres of public land in Utah's Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante national monuments. New Mexico's own Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks and Rio Grande del Norte national monuments could be next on the chopping block.
In response, New Mexico Senators Tom Udall and Martin Heinrich just joined 16 other senators to introduce a bill that would block the President from changing the boundaries of our national monuments and would increase resources for their maintenance.
82% of New Mexicans support keeping our national monuments just the way they are. We need to show that we won't stand idly by and let the President threaten our public lands, no matter where they are.
Sign the petition today and show your support for this critical legislation that would protect and preserve our national monuments.
