Help us achieve less traffic, better transit, and cleaner air in the New York Region
Congestion pricing, officially called the NYC Central Business District Tolling Program, was approved in 2019 by New York State and affirmed in 2023 by the Federal Highway Administration after a robust Environmental Assessment process.
100% of congestion pricing revenue is allocated to the MTA capital program to fund transit improvements and improve air quality. These projects focus on enhancing station accessibility through the installation of elevators and ramps, upgrading the MTA bus fleet to zero-emission buses and electrifying bus depots, reducing service disruptions and delays, and protecting against outages and extreme weather.
All of these investments lead to more reliable transit service. Without this funding, the MTA would no longer be able to invest in station accessibility, electric buses, and new rail cars, reduce service delays and outages, or protect against extreme weather.
Sign and tell the MTA you support congestion pricing!
I am writing in support of the proposed Central Business District Tolling Program, otherwise known as congestion pricing.
The transit projects congestion pricing revenue will pay for have significant benefits to NYC residents, including improving station accessibility through the installation of elevators and ramps, upgrading the MTA bus fleet to zero-emission buses and electrifying bus depots, reducing service disruptions and delays, and protecting against outages and extreme weather.
Funding public transit makes the service more reliable, efficient and accessible for all and saves riders time and money. It also improves air quality and makes us a more sustainable city.
Thank you for your consideration in this important matter.
Sincerely,
