ANIMAL WELFARE LAW IN TRINIDAD & TOBAGO NOW!

By signing this petition, you are sending a message to the government of Trinidad & Tobago that there is an urgent need for the introduction of Animal Welfare Legislation in this country. Legislation to ensure that if a person or group  does not take such steps that are reasonable in all the circumstances, to ensure that the needs of an animal for which a person or group are responsible, are met to the extent required by good practice, an offence is committed that can be punishable under the laws of Trinidad & Tobago. The legislation should ensure that the requirements for animals/pets as stated below are met by all who may be affected.

a) The need for a suitable environment,

(b)The need for a suitable diet,

(c)The need to be able to exhibit normal behaviour patterns,

(d)any need the animal/pet has to be housed with, or apart from, other animals, and

(e)The need to be protected from pain, suffering, injury and disease.
