Petition for a mask mandate in Killeen Independent School District.

Since August 4th 2021, the CDC has called for universal indoor masking for all students, staff, teachers, and visitors to K-12 schools, regardless of vaccination status. In addition, there are dozens and dozens of peer reviewed scholarly studies that prove masks work. From the American Medical Association and the New England Journal of Medicine to The Lancet and the International Journal of Nursing Studies, masking is considered anywhere between 50% and 90% effective in preventing transmission of COVID-19. The virus is sweeping through our schools and Killeen ISD needs to implement a mask mandate.
