Tennessee Law Enforcement Officer's P.O.S.T Reform

This petition is to reform the  Tennessee Peace Officers Standard Training Certification, for officers who have been non-active over 10 years. To ease the financial burden of city and county municipalities within the State of Tennessee, we propose extending the TN P.O.S.T Certification to 15-20 years instead of the current 10 years. This will require officers who have been non-active to attend a 3 week transition school instead of repeating a full Basic Police Academy. This proposal will allow the hiring of qualified and skilled personnel without the financial hardship of full academy training for veteran officers.
