Spike the wolfhound to be put to sleep, please save him?

Spike the wolfhound/deer hound was involved in an incident during April 2016 and May 2016 were he accidentally got out of his muzzle harness and attacked a cat which sadly ended in the cats death. The owners of the cat did not have any consideration or heart and went after Spike with an industrial hammer to attack Mr Colin Porter and later caught Spike in the stomach with this hammer and also went for his other elderly dog at 16yrs a lurcher who can barely stand at times and tried to attack. They later called the police and the police took Spike and tried to take Gypsy the 16yr old lurcher who had done nothing wrong. The officer tried to arrest the owner of Spike who is diabetic and has to care for his elderly mother and cannot be left but had no consideration for when trying to explain to. After Spike was taken away the family heartbroken and the officer in question admitted that it was an animal welfare case and not a civil case, which makes you think that our police should know there job to not have to even make that mistake in the first place. The police from what I have heard have
No even logged it and have not given any information on the welfare of Spike to his owner, for all we know he could be locked up with just basic animal care with the other dogs awaiting trial. Spike did not even get a trial just the owner being informed he was being cared for and is to be put to sleep on 1st September 2016 without a fair trial and no regular information as to his welfare and well-being. The law regarding the dangerous dogs act needs to be looked at fairly as many dogs such as spike in the same situation are being put to sleep without a fair trial or good reason and so many of them can be saved when their innocent. From a source of information that I received weather to be true or not many dogs are kept in kennels could be around 40 at any one rescue home awaiting trial they are cared for but only get walked if they have enough time or staff or volunteers to do so if not they are kept caged until so, and if you agree this is also apart of the dogs welfare to be walked and exercised regularly is it not. This is just not fair and Spike needs to be saved as he is the most loyal and friendly dog you can meet and many fellow dog walkers, friends and family strongly agree. For example if a cat was to catch a mouse and kill it and someone reported it to the police it would more than likely get laughed at but since a dog attacked a cat then the police do something if contacted, I'm not condoning what happens to be right or wrong but when you think about it it's animal nature for dogs to cats and cats to birds to show a dislike it's in their DNA even though cats and dogs and vise versa can get along in these modern times.
So please have a heart and help save Spike who is being treated unfairly by the law and police we have today.
