Video of Neglected Graffiti Ridden Park

Donald J. Trump State Park is a 436-acre (1.8 km2) undeveloped state park located within the towns of Yorktown and Putnam Valley in Westchester County and Putnam County, New York. The park sits on 436 acres of land that Trump had planned to develop into a golf course. When those plans failed, though, he donated the property to the state in 2006, according to a New York Times article.

A pair of New York state lawmakers introduced legislation Thursday that would rename the dilapidated "Donald J. Trump State Park" that sits outside of New York City.State Sen. Daniel Squadron's and Assemblyman Charles Lavine's "Anything But Trump Act" seeks to strip Trump's name from the park, and from any other materials related to the public area that bear his name. These elected officials are arguably using their position to criticize a candidate and legally using public authority to influence an election in order to hurt a candidate that they do not support. This is a purely a political move to try to discredit Mr. Trump.  They state they wish to honor a muslim veteran by renaming the park after him. Clearly this is a political move. How does this name change honor a muslim veteran? This publicly accessible land contains crumbling graffiti-covered buildings, empty map kiosks, and weed-choked parking lots. As of 2015, the park remains officially closed and is not listed at the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation park locator. This is not honoring a Muslim war veteran by naming a graffiti ridden unkept unopen hell hole park after him?  If anything it is a major insult to veterans and the muslim community by honoring this muslim veteran in such a way. This is a disgrace! The city has completely neglected the generous gift Mr. Trump has given and have not taken care of this property. We request not only the name change be denied but the property be reverted back to Mr. Donald J. Trump. We also want the government to investigate and hold these two publically elected officials Charles Lavin and Daniel Squadon accountable for trying to influence elections like this.

Respectfully,

Concerned Citizens

Dear Honorable Andrew M Cuomo & New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation,

It has come to our attention that State Senator Daniel Squadron introduced an "Anything But Trump Act" to change the name of an unused State Park from Donald J Trump State Park to be renamed for Peter Salem, an African American who served in the American Revolutionary War and is thought by some historians to have been Muslim. They stated that renaming the parkland after a true American patriot is fitting and will send the world a powerful message of the values we Americans and New Yorkers stand for,” Lavine said in a letter to Gov. Cuomo. What kind of message is that? That we take as good as good of care of our parks that we do our veterans. We are requesting the land be given back to Donald J Trump who actual does care about veterans and allow him to develop it into something more memorable and beneficial for all to use.

*Attached video of Donald J State Park that they want to use to memoralize a war veteran. It's a disgrace.
