Justice for Spike the friendly dog: fire NYPD policeman who shot him for no reason!
- par: Care2 Team
- destinataire: New York Police Department
An NYPD officer shot Spike the friendly dog point blank for no reason at all, and it's all caught on tape. Now that officer is facing only a review board. This man callously shot and killed a family pet that was wagging its tail - we have to stand together and tell NYPD to dismiss this officer.
On February 13, Spike's mom Yvonne Rosado looked out into the hall when she heard the commotion of police officers at another apartment. Spike slipped out into the hall to check it out and walked up to an officer, tail wagging. Yvonne said "he's friendly, he's friendly" a few times before the officer took out his firearm and shot Spike point blank. Spike did not die immediately - he laid in his mom's arms for some time, tail wagging and body twitching, as he slowly died.
"He was my beloved and now he's gone," - Yvonne Rosado.
Yvonne said that the officer didn't even seem sorry for his action. Then three male officers jumped on Yvonne and arrested her. It was early in the morning and Yvonne wore only her underwear. The video is very disturbing, but it proves the officer's guilt and must be used to dismiss him.
The trauma of losing a pet in your arms and then being arrested, both with no cause, is difficult to hear about. We need to be sure the offending officer is no longer allowed to police the streets of New York with a firearm.
