We are failing America's children.
Harshly worded, I know. But when you see the shocking new data from Feeding America's new report, Map the Meal Gap 2019, it's hard to think anything else.
Kids are more likely to be at risk of hunger than the general population in every state and in nearly every county and congressional district across the country.
This is a crisis that we, as a country, have to address. Luckily, members of Congress will soon be working on legislation that deals with child hunger – particularly in the summer when many kids suffering from hunger don't have a school meal to rely on. Sign our petition to Congress to tell them to make sure the Child Nutrition Reauthorization Act invests in kids and ends summer hunger.
Though summer is in full swing, some kids aren't thinking about months in the park or camp. They are thinking about where they will get their next meal. With schools across the country closed for summer recess, millions of kids are missing out on the reliable, nutritious meals they receive at school.
Let's remind our members of Congress that we have a responsibility as a country to help the hungry children in our midst. Please, add your name to tell Congress to fight child hunger in the Child Nutrition Reauthorization Act.

When 5 out of 6 kids who rely on school meals don't get a summer meal, it can be one of the hardest times of the year. Congress needs to invest in kids during Child Nutrition Reauthorization legislation and increase access to food for kids during the summer.
