We are not necessarily muslims, We are not necessarily jews.
We are not necessarily christian, either. We are common people, from many places in the world, asking the UN, and USA to intervene between Israel and the Palestinian people.
We have not forgotten the holocaust and how much the Jewish people were made to suffer during World War II. We remember the brutal murders, genocide, and humiliation. We know that they were robbed of their livelihoods, and freedoms and until it was too late, they were forgotten and ignored by all nations. They were the victims of the powerful in Nazi Germany, the people who had the guns, cannons and soldiers at the time.
Ironically, in the Middle East now, it is now Israel who holds the power- the guns, the cannons and the soldiers! It is using them against a defenseless people. It is fighting an invisible foe in the terrorists, but the real foe is oppression, fear and desperation which drives these suicide bombers to kill themselves and innocent Isrealis who want peace.
Don't we learn from the past? Didn't they learn from their victimization? If this is the lesson that they learned, then victimizing marginalized populations will teach those people to become more militant, stronger, and hateful!
This war between Israelis and Palestinians is not a war. It is not between soldiers, but civilians. The outcome will be certain, death, destruction and hatred on both sides.
We aren't asking the people of israel to leave their pride as a nation, or to give up their rights as a nation. We are asking them to remember. To remember the pain and the suffering of decades ago. Do not remember in order for gaining retribution, but in order to learn from it and more towards peace. We need that the young people of Israel listen to the tales of their fathers and learn that no good can come out of the war.
It is time to stop and think and to reflect on what horror has befallen the middle east.
SIGN NOW and urge Kofi Anan and UN peacekeeping forces to intervene.

We are not necessarily muslims, We are not necessarily jews.
We are not necessarily christian, either. We are common people, from many places in the world, asking the UN, and USA to intervene between Israel and the Palestinian people.

It is time to stop and think and to reflect on what horror has befallen the middle east. Please, don't let the history to repeat, once again. You have the power to do it, but you need the will to do it. PLease Mr. Kofi Anaan. Take every measure necessary to end the war in the middle east!

One day we must come to see that peace is not merely a distant goal we seek, but that it is a means by which we arrive at that goal. We must pursue peaceful ends through peaceful means.
