Auckland residents have been suffering significant detrimental effects from noise generated by implementation of the Smart Approaches trial and the Arrivals Manager system at Auckland Airport.
We the undersigned consider that Part 93, Subpart B of the Civil Aviation Rules is inadequate to sufficiently mitigate noise effects for the residents of Auckland City from these revised airport operational procedures. We therefore ask that the Minister commission a review of the noise abatement rules currently relating to the operation of Auckland Airport. This review is to be undertaken by an appropriately experienced and qualified professional, who is also to recommend necessary amendments to the noise abatement rules for Auckland Airport.
