Wilson Mall Restoration Project

In 2013 the Wilson Mall shut its doors for so called "renovations", but four years later they've done nothing with the property. The owners of the Mall decided to demolish the structure, but it's too expensive, which is why the Mall still stands. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------The young people of Wilson have nothing to do. When you want to go to a good mall, you have to drive 45 minutes to Crab Tree Valley Mall in Raleigh. The students of this town want to leave so badly, but no one wants to turn this town around, and create a community worth staying in. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Here is what we can do. We can sign this petition, get the attention of the building owners, and give more life to the community one step at a time. Revitalizing the Mall would create new jobs, expose the people to a new and exciting environment, and give the people of Wilson and it's visitors something to do! ----------------------------------------------------A few ideas-------------------------------List of potential stores: Macy's, American Eagle, Aeropostale, Rue 21, Hot Topic, Claire's, Zumee's, Victoria's Secret, Foot Locker, Bath and Body Works, Think Geek, Build a Bear, The Disney Store, and Books a Million. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------For Entertainment: An indoor outdoor mini golf course, Laser Tag, Video Game Arcade, Dave and Busters, and an Ice Skating Rink. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Food: Chipotle, Five Guys, Chick Fil A, Greek Fiesta, Cinnabon, and Dippin Dots. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------To make the community feel like a part of this Mall, there should be features included such as: Art work (sculptures, paintings, Murals) made by local companies or students. -----------------------------------------------------------------Local companies should make features such as fountains or aquariums. ----------As a tribute to the joke that the mall became a walking place on cold or rainy days for the elderly, there should be a trail of foot prints making a mile lap around the inside of the mall called "The Old Mile". ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Help make this community a fun, safe, and welcoming place for the locals and it's visitors!
