"So on October 2nd. I had a friend pick up my dog to watch him. I got a call about an hour or so after she took him that he was being walked and that the collar was not on tight enough and he came off his collar. I drove to Escondido right away! We walked for hours asking people if they've seen him and I have info of the people who asked if they've seen him. That same day I filed the report with the human society of Escondido with pictures and a distinctive feature...he has a chronic dry nose....I went again the following day and the day after that where I made the signs. On the 7th I saw an add on the humane society of a found husky but there was no picture of the husky. So I called. And they first said it was a girl husky. Then they asked for any distinctive featureset and I told them about his nose and they said not dog met that description. So I tried my luck on Craigslist. I posted a feed on the 9th on Facebook. I went to PawFinder too. And I kept looking at the humane society website. And nothing. Someone told me to look at the Facebook page about lost huskies of San Diego in late October and u did. And that is where I found prince. I called the human society and they said "how could u know about that if we removed that post" I said I found it on Facebook not the human society website. So they went on that he was adopted on the 12th. And as much as I argued they said they cudnt help me." -Owner (Alvarado)
am starting a petition for a great friend of mine who came home from vacation because the sitters said Prince (husky dog) went missing. The dog's owner said she gave photos and a full description of Prince but the humane society did not follow through on their end to find his owner through the missing dog reports. My friend did everything she could to bring her dog home as soon as she found out, she put up flyers, she called the humane society, and a craigslist add. As soon as she found her dog on Facebook she called the San Diego Humane Society and said it was her dog, but they said it was too late he was already put up for adoption (after a 5 day waiting period) and was adopted by another family . It was injust and could have talked to the new family about the situation. Instead of looking for the best interest of the dog, whom had been with my friend as a puppy, and currently 5yrs old, they were quick to deny her any sort of help. They did offer a free adoption, however how can someone replace a family member? a solution could have been to offer a free adoption to the other family since they had the dog for a very short amount of time from the time my friend found him. Please help my friend get her dog back, I know how much she cared for him.
