Five days after being "Taken into Care" by the Local Authority, two children retracted their earlier statements that for a period of at least three years, they had been abused by their natural father and a group of adults based on their local school. Despite their numerous earlier reports that remained consistent and were corroborated by medical examination showing anal injury, the Courts have ordered the children be removed from the natural mother, against whom neither children or authorities have had any reason to complain. Indeed as a result of police attempts to arrest her, she has now been forced to flee the country. A friend who represented her, has been forced to do the same. Incredibly the children's claims, including hidden distinguishing features of their alleged abusers, was never, as far as can be ascertained, properly investigated by police, before declaring "case closed" only five days after the children were removed from the mother. Some may think this combination of events is highly suspicious and unfair to both mother and children who after more than five months, have still not been returned. In the light of many well publicised criminal and other child abuse cases, it is imperative that the Government institute an enquiry into the police, social services and education department handling of the case and that the children are returned to their natural mother or grand parents at the earliest opportunity.
