With less than 1% of Canada's coastline being protect, the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society is asking for your help to create 12 new marine protected areas.
Canada has the largest coastline in the world, yet less than 1% of it is protected through meaningful long-term conservation measures. The Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS) has challenged the government to create 12 news marine protected areas by the end of 2012. We have sufficient progress on a few areas; however, we need to put more pressure on the government.
