3/21/11 More horrific stories from the Chesterfield Shelter are coming to light. Information courtesy of Seattle DOGSPOT reports that a former shelter worker claims that the shelter manager and CONVICTED DRUG DEALER was taking pitbulls from the shelter for dog fighting and that the inmates were using the equipment to train dogs for dog fighting. Other claims are that instead of using the budget to purchase the appropriate drugs for euthanasia, shelter pets were shot and buried in the landfill and 91% of the budget went for salaries and benefits. The State Law Enforcement Division and the S.C. Attorney Generals Office is currently investigating.

There are allegations that 22 dogs and puppies were taken to the Chesterfield landfill in SC and shot by shelter employees. Rescuers were horrified as many of the dogs were to be picked up by rescue group that had agreed to taken them from the shelter for adoption. The latest update states that the shelter has closed and 5 shelter employees are on administrative leave pending an investigation. It is believed that about 50 dogs have suffered this horrible fate.

Demand a thorough investigation, termination & prosecution of employees at CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, S.C animal shelter and Sherriff Sam Parker if allegations are substantiated! Further demand that funds be appropriated to humanely euthanize animals using lethal injection. Please also insist that rescue groups be allowed to pull animals for future care and adoptions.
