Tell Congress: Act Now to Ensure Patient Access to Affordable Treatments

Every 26 seconds, someone in the US is diagnosed with diabetes. People living with diabetes rely on prescription medications to manage their care, but Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs)—middlemen in our healthcare system—can drive up costs and make it harder for patients to get the treatments they need.

Federal legislators have a historic opportunity to lower out-of-pocket costs for seniors at the pharmacy counter and fix the broken system by passing the bipartisan reforms in S. 2973 and S. 3430. The time for Congress to act is now.

The proposed legislation would:

    • Lower Out-of-Pocket Costs for Seniors

    • Remove Incentives that Drive Up Costs

    • Improve Much-Needed Transparency

It's time to rein in PBMs and ensure people with diabetes and other serious diseases have affordable access to lifesaving and life-sustaining treatments.

Congress must act before the end of the year. Your members need to hear from people like you because your voice matters!

Send a message to your elected officials today and urge them to keep fighting for seniors and deliver savings for millions of Americans by supporting S. 2973 and S. 3430.
As your constituent, I urge you to lower out-of-pocket costs for seniors at the pharmacy counter by passing the bipartisan reforms in S. 2973 and S. 3430. The time for Congress to act is now.

Every 26 seconds, someone in the US is diagnosed with diabetes. Ninety-eight percent of people living with diabetes rely on prescription medications to manage their care, but Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) can increase barriers to patient care and limit access to needed treatments.

This bipartisan legislation will:

-Lower Out-of-Pocket Costs for Seniors: Ensure that discounts and rebates negotiated by PBMs go directly to patients at the pharmacy counter, reducing their out-of-pocket costs and putting much-needed savings in the hands of those who need them most.

-Increase Competition and Remove Incentives that Drive Up Costs: Eliminate incentives to favor more expensive medications by delinking the fees PBMs charge from the list price of drugs.

-Improve Much-Needed Transparency: Bring critical transparency to PBM practices, ensuring they operate in the best interests of patients rather than prioritizing their own profits.

Thank you for reining in PBMs and working to ensure people with diabetes and other serious diseases have affordable access to the treatments they need. I urge you to act before the end of the year to provide relief for people living with diabetes and other chronic conditions by supporting S. 2973 and S. 3430.

Sincerely,
