Tell Lawmakers in Olympia: Don’t cut our education, housing, or health care! Make the super-rich pay their share!

In a LANDSLIDE, Washington voters rejected I-2109's tax cut for mega-millionaires and billionaires - defeating it 65 - 35%!

But we just learned Washington's education, housing, health care and more may be cut by $10 billion next year. The truth is we face massive funding gaps because our state budget is still overwhelmingly balanced on the backs of working families.

We pride ourselves on being a great place to live, yet Washington State is the second WORST in the nation when it comes to tax fairness. The richest Washingtonians pay the smallest share for public education, housing, and health care, while those with the least pay the most.

Working together from Yakima to Bellingham, we passed the modest mega-millionaire capital gains tax to fund early learning and school construction. But we can't stop there, we've got a long way to go until CEOs pay the same share as janitors in state taxes.

Tell your elected officials to say NO to massive cuts in education, housing, and health care and YES to ensuring the richest Washingtonians pay what they owe. Send this email NOW to your lawmakers in Olympia.

To whom it may concern:

As your constituent, I joined 2.3 million other Washingtonians in voting NO to cutting taxes for Washington's billionaires and mega-millionaires. I-2109 lost in a landslide with 65% of voters showing our overwhelming support for rebalancing Washington's tax code by making the mega-rich pay what they owe for early learning and school construction.

Washington is facing a projected budget shortfall of $10 billion. There is no need to make drastic cuts that will impact millions of working families when thousands of mega-millionaires and billionaires could be paying what they owe our State.

I urge you to support proposals that rebalance our tax code by making sure those who have the most pay their share for education, housing, health care and other vital state services.
