Cats are prolific breeders; just one unneutered female could have 18 kittens a year.
Cats that are neutered later in life, unfortunately, contribute to the number of unwanted or mistreated cats in the UK. Unneutered cats tend to fight more and roam the streets where they are more likely to be injured or hit by cars.
