Speak Up for Polar Bear Cubs!
Right now, after record low Arctic ice last fall delayed when polar bears could find seals, female polar bears with young cubs are trying to make up for lost hunting time -- and are frantically looking for food to gain the calories needed to nurse their cubs.
But now, we have momentum on our side to put strong limits on carbon pollution fueling the climate change that is causing polar bears to suffer.
President Obama has the opportunity right now to start limiting carbon pollution that comes from coal fired power plants -- our nation's largest source of carbon pollution.
Help protect polar bears by editing and sending a message to President Obama, urging him to announce strong plans to limit carbon pollution.
Dear President Obama,
Subject: Address Climate Change by Cracking Down on Big Polluters
Thank you for your strong commitment in the State of the Union Address to tackle climate change, making it clear that we must "reduce pollution, prepare our communities for the consequences of climate change, and speed the transition to more sustainable sources of energy."

Climate change is the single biggest threat to wildlife this century and it's already leaving communities across America more vulnerable to extreme weather.
Confronting the climate crisis must include using your authority under the Clean Air Act to finalize limits for carbon pollution from new power plants and issuing strong carbon limits for existing power plants. And it means advancing renewable energy to tap vast new resources such as offshore wind, while rejecting dirty fuel sources, including the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline, to ensure clean energy strengthens and powers our nation into the future.
I strongly urge you to take these actions to move America forward in confronting the climate crisis.
Sincerely,
