No More Subsidies for California Farming and Agriculture

In the state of California, agriculture is one of the leading exports. It is also the leader is water use and waste. California is in a critical drought, while families and small businesses are being penalized for the negligence of that industry and the state government. Furthermore, the farming industry receives tax payers' dollars, in the form of subsidies, whether or not they produce.

With the drought in mind, California is still providing subsidies to farms that raise cattle, harvest almonds, have rice fields, etc. These private businesses are collecting tax payers' dollars while wasting our precious water.

This petition is to cease subsidies to the farming and agricultural industries in the state of California.
