Demand Cyprus to send a Pediatrician and a Dietitian to get trained on Inherited Metabolic Diseases

There are over 500 inherited metabolic diseases (IMDs) recognized and affect individuals from their birth. Many patients develop neurological problems, brain damage, and many other health issues, even death. Most of IMDs require a very strict low protein diet and constant monitoring of their health by a doctor and a dietitian with a proper training on Inherited Metabolic Diseases. Each inherited metabolic disease as an individual disease might be rare, however due to their large number as a group they compose the 15-20% of all genetic diseases.

Με τις παρακάτω ηλεκτρονικές υπογραφές δηλώνουμε τη στήριξη προς το υψίστης και ζωτικής σημασίας αίτημα του Σωματείου Ασθενών και Φίλων Κληρονομικών Μεταβολικών νοσημάτων (ΚΜΝ) "Ασπίδα Ζωής" για άμεση υπογραφή σύμβασης με εξειδικευμένο ιατρικό κέντρο του εξωτερικού και στην αποστολη παιδιάτρου και διαιτολόγου για εκπαίδευση στα Κληρονομικά Μεταβολικά Νοσήματα στο εν λόγω ιατρικό κέντρο. Παράλληλα ένας παιδίατρος και διαιτολόγος με ειδίκευση στα Κληρονομικά Μεταβολικά Νοσήματα από το συγκεκριμένο κέντρο να επισκέπτεται ασθενείς στην Κύπρο ανα προκαθορισμένα χρονικά διαστήματα.
