Stricter Enforcement of Animal Cruelty Registry to Stop the Abuse in Florida

In my ongoing endeavors to urge all states to implement an animal cruelty registry, state by state, the effort is to urge Florida to take crucial steps necessary to warding off animal abuse throughout the state.  Such a data base needs to be strict and similar in stature to that of a sex offenders’ registry.  Florida has been named as one of the highest ranking states involving animal cruelty.  Talks and a bill have been proposed for an animal abuse data base which you can read more about at http://www.ocfl.net/portals/0/library/animals-pets/docs/animalcrueltynationalstatistics.pdf, http://www.dogheirs.com/dogheirs/posts/310-animal-abuse-registry-bill-in-florida-would-come-into-effect-in-october-2012  Pet-Abuse.com have documentation regarding the many continuing cases animal cruelty throughout Florida.

Through research, it appears that this proposal for an animal cruelty registry is not in effect statewide as stated in another article at http://patch.com/florida/brandon/hillsborough-considers-animal-abuse-registry-0 and the hope is that an animal cruelty registry be implemented and strictly enforced not only statewide but nationwide.  Animal abuse is a crime that seems to have more lax repercussions but officials have proven that those found guilty of such crimes are also linked to other serious offenses against humans. There is a clear link between animal, child and domestic abuse.

With evidence of some attempts to create an animal abuse registry in Florida, my hope is that such a proposal be implemented and strictly enforced that will protect animals throughout the entire state. Such a database needs to have stricter implications and require any and all animal abusers be required to be register with all pertinent information for a lifetime.  Such offenders should not be allowed to ever own, work with or care for any other animals after a crime against an animal.  This is the only method to stop such repeat abuse.   The efforts of this petition is to encourage Florida legislators to provide an animal cruelty registry that will provide and enforce these stipulations.  Join me in being a voice for all animals as we ensure their safety and wellbeing.  You can help by signing and sharing this petition, adding your thoughts and comments in the name of the voiceless everywhere.

Florida Legislators – It is impressive that the State of Florida has made some efforts in creating a type of database for criminals of animal abuse.  Reportedly, animal abuse and cruelty is still at an all-time high and cannot be stopped without a more effective animal cruelty registry.  I strongly urge you to implement a harsher database for animal abusers. This registry needs to have stricter implications and require any and all animal abusers be required to be register with all pertinent information for a lifetime.  Such offenders should not be allowed to ever own, work with or care for any other animals after a crime against an animal.  This is the only method to stop such repeat abuse.   Ensure the safety of animals statewide in Florida through a firmer, fully enforced animal cruelty registry.
