Hi, my name is Lance Weiss and I love Bush's Baked Beans. They've been a hearty staple for me before, as well as during, the pandemic. You just crack open a can and boom, you've got yourself a wholesome delicious meal ready to go! So I thought, "Hey, why not try and get sponsored by them?!" Then I thought, "How can we tie it into a good cause?" So here's what's happening:
My goal is to get 250 signatures of people signing on saying they also think I should be sponsored by Bush's Baked Beans. Once we reach this amount, I will donate $100 to a cause that's important to me - mental health. So I'll donate $100 to the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH). I'd like to do more than $100, but I'm not rich, and we're petitioning to be sponsored by Bush's Baked Beans for goodness sake. If we get to 500 signatures, I'll throw in another $100 (totaling $200 to the NIMH). If the universe provides and we hit 1,000 signatures, then I'll ask my rich friend (he'll do it) to match the $200, totaling $400 to the NIMH! How rad would that be, for mental health, but like also for a Bush's sponsorship!
Once we hit the first goal, I'm then going to reach out to the good people at Bush's (perhaps via Linkedin profiles, the company website & social media channels - as many ways as I can) and be like, "Look, all these people think it's a great idea and we donated $100 to the NIMH!" Then we'll see what Bush's does on their end next. If you have the direct contacts to the execs at Bush's, and would be willing to share so we can expedite this process, it would be greatly appreciated! I'll keep everyone updated on this page here as the journey unfolds.
