We demand justice for Cabela, Dillingham dog. On the morning of August 4th, 2013, Skamania county deputies arrived to the home of 45-year-old Christopher Dillingham of Stevenson Wa. after 911 calls came in about an explosion of some sort. Deputies on the scene found the body of a dog who appeared to have been blown up on Dillingham's property.
While the Skamania county corrections facility lists Animal Cruelty as one of Chris Dillingham's charges, Skamania County Undersheriff Dave Cox said Dillingham was not arrested for investigation of animal cruelty because the dog's death was instantaneous and it therefore did not suffer. They state Dillingham will be charged with malicious mischief II, reckless endangerment and possession of explosive devices.
Not adding animal cruelty is a complete injustice. Does Washington state want to be known as the state that considers animal cruelty a joke? Does Skamania County want to be known as the county that considers animal cruelty a joke? Does the town of Stevenson want to be known as the town that considers animal cruelty a joke? One definition of cruelty is an inhuman act. We believe strapping explosives to the collar of an innocent dog is in fact AN INHUMAN ACT! The fact that those who are in the position to protect the public do not, is extremely disturbing.
It is a well documented fact that animal abuse is often a precursor to human abuse. This cannot be taken lightly. We are asking that you make an example out of Chris Dillingham. Charge him with every crime he committed. Sent a strong message to animal abusers that this WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!
