Imagine being trapped in a plastic box in the peak of Las Vegas' summer, when temperatures easily exceed 100 degrees. It sounds like a horror film, but it was the bleak reality for Reba the bulldog when her owners cruelly abandoned her to die.
Reba was struggling to breathe and suffering from heatstroke when rescuers found her taped inside a plastic bin, abandoned near a dumpster like garbage. Veterinarians did everything they could to save poor Reba, who fought to live for two days.
Tragically, Reba passed away due to complications related to heatstroke and shock. Now, her owners must face true accountability.

Two people have been arrested and charged with Reba's death, and while we are glad that they are not able to harm any more animals for the time being, what really matters here is the sentencing. Las Vegas

"felony charge(s) of willful/malicious torture/maiming/killing of a dog, cat or animal." We cannot be sure that fines or jail time will do much to stop these two from obtaining, torturing, and killing more animals in the future. But if these two were banned from ever owning animals again, we could rest assured that no other dogs like Reba would suffer her same fate.
As the case has progressed, more shocking details about Reba's life with these people have come to light. Neighbors say that
Reba's owners would tie her up outside in extreme heat all the time, not even providing her with food or water for a bit of relief.
It is so sad to think about Reba suffering for as long as she did, but the best thing we can do now is make sure that no other animals suffer in the same way.
