Your petition “Do our clicks to donate to breast cancer fund experiments on animals?” has been sent to the Care 2 Management, with a request for clarification.
Yes, the Susan G. Komen foundation does fund experimentation and testing on animals and when we click to donate the funds we raise are spent as they see fit. And, Care 2 only REQUEST that these funds go to research that does not test and experiment on animals.
THE GOOG NEWS:
As a result of our petition Care 2 has now inserted a qualifying note “Care2 requests that donations made will not be applied to programs that test on animals.” I thank them for this and ask that you take a look at how this important message appears.
THE NOT SO GOOD NEWS:
It's not prominent enough!
To have a fair chance at being read it needs to be:
1. Placed IN, rather than under, the picture/click box
2. Written in larger type
3. The word “REQUESTS” needs to be emphasised from the rest of the sentence by being underlined, written in bold and/or in caps.
When a person has clicked the option to donate their decision is taken! Once they arrive at the next click their eye (and cursor) is immediately taken to the big orange button. Unfortunately few people read further, they just click!
Testing and experimenting on animals is an enormous issue for most animal lovers and activists on this site: that is, as of the 13th November of this year, 1,779,257 of us!
Personally I would rather Care 2 scrap the Susan G. Komen foundation as the target for funds donated and instead put forward a breast cancer research organisation that does NOT fund experiments and testing on animals. However, I am trying to be conciliatory and asking instead that this qualification by Care 2 be more prominent. It is a small ask by comparison.
So if you agree that this qualification by Care 2 be made more prominent - please sign this petition.
