stop fireworks and bangs in the territory for New Year's Eve and other occasions
While 860 Italian municipalities agreed this year not to let people perform the usual bangs the last day of the year, there's a new Mayor in Palagano, a little village on the mountains full, of course, of wild animals and pets, who did not undertook this battle of civilization and, for the first time in many years, this last New Year's Eve was marred by big bangs everywhere in the territory, resulting in great suffering and shock for hundreds of cats, dogs and wild animals. Many dogs and cats escaped in fear - some of them have never been found, others have been found shocked and in bad conditions days after.
We ask the Mayor of Palagano, Fabio Braglia, to issue an order to ban bangs and fireworks from the territory, just like the other 860 "enlightened" municipalities all over the country.
We, the undersigned,
ask the Mayor of Palagano, Modena, Italy, Fabio Braglia to issue an order to ban from the territory bangs and fireworks, just like 860 enlightened municipalities have already done throughout Italy,
We beg you to think to all the damage that's been done the last New Year's Eve, with animals escaped from fear and shock and people worried and disturbed.
This is a mountain territory and many animals have been lost, many more were injured trying to escape from their homes and recoveries in fear.
We also think to the wild animals, that we haven't seen but were surely negatively affected by all the chaos and warlike noise around them.
So please, join so many other Mayors in this battle of civilization and ban bangs and fireworks from the territory of Palagano.
We trust in your deep sense of humaneness and we thank you in advance for reading our petition.
