STOP the BAN against PITBULLS in ONTARIO, CANADA!!

Ontario's Premier Dalton McGuinty banned Pitbulls in Ontario in 2005. Thousands of adult dogs and innocent puppies were killed as a result. It is unfair to ban a breed because of what the owners have done to them. Most cases of pit attacks are due to the animals being abused, (i.e., one pit bull was being forced to eat battery acid by his OWNER. He attacked the owner's child because the child was too close to the animal who was in agony, and dying.) These facts are NEVER reported in the news, just the fact that a PIT BULL was involved in the mauling of a child.
Once known as the "Nanny Dog", these gentle animals are not the killers our government portrays them to be. PLEASE SIGN, and help us get back the right to own and love these amazing animals!
We the undersigned are petitioning the ban of Pit Bulls in Ontario. Please stop banning this breed and set up a program, or create a permit, that potential owners have to have in order to own a Pit Bull. It's not fair to ban a breed because of the way they were raised. It's not the dogs who should be banned, but the owners who fight them, abuse them, and use them for guard dogs for their drug ops.
There was a time this breed was called the "Nanny Dog", because of their sweet temperament, and gentle ways with children and adults alike.
We are asking you to consider dropping the ban, and allowing people the joys of owning an animal that would protect you with their life, if needed.
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. We greatly appreciate it.
