Drop the "Flatulence Tax"

In their crackdown on greenhouse emissions, the EPA has discovered a few that they missed. They now propose to tax farmers for the amount of methane gas produced not by any machinery, but by their livestock. This gas is produced naturally during the digestion process, and has been since the cow and pig were "invented." The EPA proposes to tax farmers $175 a dairy cow, $87.50 a head of cattle and $20 a hog.
People, this is RIDICULOUS! We're going to tax farmers because their cows and pigs fart? Is that going to CHANGE the fact? NO! Can farmers stop them from doing what is part of their digestive process? NO!
So what is this "fart tax" going to do? It will lead to cattle being put down because their farmers can't afford to keep them, and if they send them somewhere else, that person still has to pay the methane tax. DEAD COW=no tax. Notice that the tax on dairy cattle is higher. This means an increase in price in dairy products, not only because farmers have to recoup their losses from this tax, but also because the higher tax could make dairy farmers turn to less-taxable farming (less supply, higher price).
So what is it going to do? Put money in the government pockets, and take it out of ours. What's next? A tax on OUR flatulence? Let's show the EPA how ridiculous we think this "fart tax" is!
