An undercover investigation recently carried out by PETA at Holmes Farm, a large Pennsylvania small animal breeder, revealed horrors usually associated only with puppymills. The video taken by PETA investigators shows animals kept in plastic storage bins, floors splattered with blood, and dead animals left in cages with live animals. Small scared rabbits, ferrets, hamsters and mice are shown being handled so inhumanely that the images will bring tears to your eyes.

USDA investigation update--May 23,,2016--http://www.wtae.com/news/inspectors-find-sick-dead-animals-at-pet-store-supplier/39680662
The USDA is currently investigating Holmes Farm, and Petco claims to have broken ties with the farm, YET THEY REFUSE TO NAME THEIR 'NEW' SUPPLIER ! Unfortunately, however, places like this are the rule and not the exception when it comes to farms that supply pet stores with smaller animals like rabbits, hamsters, and guinea pigs.
Petsmart and Petco have the power to help stop this horror by making it a storewide policy that the only animals available in their stores come from shelters and rescues. The ramifications there of would be incredible! A policy like this at the largest pet store chains in the country would strike a huge blow against the puppy mill and animal trafficking trade. And Petsmart and Petco could give homeless dogs, cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs a chance to find a forever family.
Please sign this petition to urge Petsmart and Petco to help put heartless breeders out of business by only selling animals from shelters and rescues.
