Hello 👋,
UK charity Hillside Animal Sanctuary recently investigated a farm in Norfolk in which pigs are being kept in filthy and cruel conditions. At Kettle Brigg Farm, pigs are kept in their own waste, with no straw and (for at least some of them) without access to water. I prefer animal rights over animal welfare, but dry lying area is required by law for farm animals, and access to water is one of the Five Welfare Needs as required by law and promoted by the RSPCA. Despite this, and despite the fact that his company is responsible for dealing in the meat of innocent animals who are slaughtered against their will, Kevin Burrows of C&K Meats, which this farm supplies, claims to be an animal lover and to believe in animal welfare.
Kevin Burrows, please stand by what you said about believing in animal welfare and do all you can to ensure this farm is shut down. Also, please stand by what you said about being an animal lover, go vegan and shut down your meat business and switch to a new career that doesn't involve slaughtering the beings whom you claim to love. You can't truly love animals and kill them unjustly, or profit off of or support their unjust slaughter. There is no such thing as humane slaughter. Maybe you could become a vegan butcher and set up your own vegan mock meat business, or set up your own animal sanctuary for the victims of the farm animal holocaust and other victims of cruelty and neglect, as well as those found living rough and those who would otherwise be put down?
Thank you 😊.
