A zoo located in Thailand that recently exhibited some of their elephants by painting them black and white to look like pandas in an attempt to exhibit their new exhibit of these endangered animals. Such an exploitation puts elephants in harm’s way to draw attention to the threatened pandas was expedited by a local sanctuary known as the Elephantstay sanctuary of Royal Elephant Kraal & Village in Ayutthaya, Thailand. Allegedly, the mission of this not-for-profit organization is to give old elephants a long and happy retirement but using extreme poor and abusive tactics. Staff at this facility dismiss any reports and accusations by animal activists, as you can see at http://www.elephantstay.com/facts-about-elephants.html, claiming they do what is in the best interest of the animals. However, promoting them unnatural and entertainment purposes.
The mission in this petition is to speak out to the zoo staff and the Elephantstay sanctuary of Royal Elephant Kraal & Village in Ayutthaya, Thailand regarding the mistreatment of the animals like these poor elephants and encourage that other options than exploitation. Using animals for entertainment and promotional feats is clearly animal cruelty. Thailand Prime Minister, Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha – I strongly urge you to investigate the so-called not-for-profit Elephantstay sanctuary of Royal Elephant Kraal & Village in Ayutthaya, Thailand and zoo where they are known for some abusive treatment of the animals. Their current ploy is to paint elephants to look like pandas as a form of advertising. Anything other than the natural treatment of the animals, exploiting them for promotional and/or entertainment purposes is clearly animal abuse and cruelty. Please read the attached documented information and ensure that you intervene to save these animals from such discriminating and cruel treatment. Ban the mistreatment of animals at the zoo and Elephantstay sanctuary, holding all those accountable for any animal abuse and cruelty.
