THE SENATE OF COLOMBIA DEBATES TO DECLARE THE FIGHT AND DEATH OF THE BULLS AS CULTURAL AND ARTISTIC PATRIMONY OF THE CITY OF CALI AND TO ITS CIVIL PROMOTERS OF THE SAME ONES.
IT KNOWS IS A PROJECT OF LAW PROMOTED BY THE SENATOR VALLECAUCANA DILIAN FRANCISCA TORO TORRES, IN THAT SHE LLOKS TO OFFSET THE CIVIL SENSIBLIZACION ACHIEVED BY THE MAC FOR MORE THAN ONE DECADE, THE PRETENCION IS TO BE ABLE TO ARMOUR THE BULLFIGHTS AGAINST AN EVIDENT ECONOMIC COLLAPSE, SETTLING THE SAME ONE WITH THE PROTECTION OF THE STATE.
WE ARE DEFEATING THEM AND LET'S NOT PRUNE TO ALLOW THAT THEY SHOULD BE FINANCED BY THE RESOURCES DESTINED FOR THE EDUCATION AND FOR THE CULTURE.
KNOW THE PROJECT OF LAW AND HELP US TO PREVENT IT FROM APPROVING IN THE SENATE OF THE REPUBLIC AND TO DEMAND THERE IS WITHDRAWN OR MODIFIED IN THE SPECIFIC POINTS WHAT PORTEGER CLAIMS TO THE BULLFIGHTS IN CALI AND SIMULTANEOUSLY THAT SEARCH TO FORCE THE CALEÑOS TO BE PROMOTERS OF THE BULLFIGHTING PARTY, FACT THAT WE REJECT ENERGETICALLY.

In view of her parliamentary initiative that seeks to declare among others the spectacle of the Fight and Death of the Bulls as Art and Cultural Heritage of the City of Santiago of Cali, and to your inhabitants as promoters of the Brave party, we declare our total disagreement to above mentioned initiatory nowadays in debate in the Senate of the Republic.
We consider to be inadmissible her intention of declaring as Cultural Patrimony, a type of cultural event that encloses the suffering and the violation of the right to the life and the dignity of the animals for amusement of the citizens, the citizenship of Cali in the highest percentage does not agree or pleases this type of cruel events, and diminishes to a minority that imposes this anthropocentric taste that it forces.
It must be able only clear that the citizenship of Cali we are not promoters and managers of so cruel activity and demand not to impose this as identity of our entire city.
For everything previous, we request emphatically to withdraw in an immediate way the Project of Law " BY MEANS OF WHICH HE(SHE) DECLARES HIMSELF(HERSELF) AS CULTURAL PATRMONIO OF THE NATION TO THE BULLFIGHTING FAIR OF CALI "
Of equal we want to clarify also in that we support the artistic initiatives that promote real values in favour of the life, represented in music, dance and other expressions of the folklore, but we do not accept as citizens the promotion and protection of this type of events where cruelty interferes towards the animals and the rights of the infancy are violated to a healthy environment, attending these rituals of suffering and death.

En vista de su iniciativa parlamentaria que busca declarar entre otros el espectáculo de la Lidia y Muerte de los Toros como Patrimonio Artístico y Cultural de la Ciudad de Santiago de Cali, y a sus habitantes como promotores de la fiesta Brava, declaramos nuestro total desacuerdo a dicha iniciativa actualmente en debate en el Senado de la República.
Consideramos inadmisible su intención de declarar como Patrimonio Cultural, un tipo de evento cultural que encierra el sufrimiento y la vulneración del derecho a la vida y la dignidad de los animales para diversión de los ciudadanos, la ciudadanía caleña en un altísimo porcentaje no acepta o no gusta de este tipo de eventos crueles, y se reduce a una minoría que impone este antropocéntrico gusto que violenta.
Debe quedar claro que los caleños no somos promotores y gestores de tan cruel actividad y exigimos no imponer esto como identidad de toda nuestra ciudad.
Por todo lo anterior, solicitamos enfáticamente retirar de manera inmediata el Proyecto de Ley "POR MEDIO DE LA CUAL SE DECLARA COMO PATRIMONIO CULTURAL DE LA NACION A LA FERIA DE CALI LA CUAL INCLUYE LA FERIA TAURINA DE CALI "
Los ciudadanos y entidades defensoras de animales a nivel local, nacional e internacional aquí firmantes nos estamos dando a la tarea de difundir internacionalmente denunciando esta iniciativa presentada por Usted como senadora y dejamos claro que nos estamos dando a la tarea de sensibilizar a la población colombiana para que en las próximas elecciones no voten por Usted, o todo aquel senador o parlamentario que impulse iniciativas en contra de los derechos de los animales.
